In 1582, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member and samurai [[Yasuke]] arrived at the waterfall and met with {{Wiki|Akai Teruko|Teruko sensei}}, who offered to instruct him of her ''[[kata]]'' of the ''[[naginata]]'', which he sucessfully completed.
