'''Henry VI''' (1421 – 1471) was the King of [[England]] and Lord of [[Ireland]] from 1422 to 1461 and again from 1470 to 1471, and disputed King of [[France]] from 1422 to 1453.

==Biography==
In August 1422, the infant Henry VI was made King of England, succeeding his father [[Henry V of England|Henry V]]. Later in October, he became King of France, succeeding his maternal grandfather, [[Charles VI of France|Charles VI]].<ref>{{WP|Henry VI of England}}</ref> His claim to the French throne was heavily disputed however and only escalated the [[Hundred Years' War]] further. The {{Wiki|Treaty of Troyes}}, signed by his father and Queen [[Isabeau of Bavaria|Isabeau of France]], made it so that instead of the French throne going to its next in line, [[Charles VII of France|Charles VII]], it would go to the next English king.<ref name="ACH Ch5">''[[Assassin's Creed: Heresy]]'' – Chapter 5</ref>

In January 1429, Jeanne d'Arc mentioned the boy-king in regards to her disdain that Queen Isabeau handed France over to him. She made these opinions known to [[Jean de Metz]] while she and her step-cousin [[Gabriel Laxart]] were in [[Vaucouleurs]] to see his lord, [[Robert de Baudricourt]].<ref name="ACH Ch5" /> On 22 March, the King was mentioned by Jeanne d'Arc in a letter dictation condemning him, and other lords, demanding their immediate surrender to "''the Maid who is sent here from God''".<ref>''Assassin's Creed: Heresy'' – Chapter 16</ref>
