The '''French and Indian War''' was a military conflict between 1754 and 1763.It saw the [[Colonial America|colonial possessions]] of the [[British Empire]] and their Native American allies combat their [[France|French]] colonial counterpartand their own native allies. A theatre of the much wider [[Seven Years War]], the conflict ended with the ceding of Canada and Florida to Britain and ensured the survival of the Thirteen Colonies.
