On 17 July 756, the ''[[jiedushi]]'' [[An Lushan]] and his [[Yeluohe|rebel army]] captured the [[Tang dynasty|Tang]] capital of [[Chang'an]], a few days after Tang [[Li Longji|Emperor Xuanzong]] fled from the city along with a royal entourage comprising of the [[Li Heng|Crown Prince]], [[Yang Yuhuan|Yang Guefei]], his most trusted officials and several members of the [[Golden Turtles]].

For three days and nights, the rebel army occupied and plundered the city, killing many of the citizens within the city walls. An Lushan's admiral, [[Sun Xiaozhe]], slaughtered many members of the royal family, including the eldest Princess, the Empress,
the Prince Consort, and many more at Chongren District in honor of An Lushan's son, [[An Qingzong]], who was executed by the Tang a year earlier.<ref name="ACD">''[[Assassin's Creed: Dynasty]]'' [[Final Chapter: Assassination]]</ref>
