'''Enju''' (died 1582), also known as '''The Teppo Smuggler''', was a [[Japan]]ese [[Smuggling|smuggler]] and a member of a [[Tanba|Tamba]] [[silver]]-smuggling ring during the 16th century.

==Biography==
By 1582, Enju was part of the [[Akechi clan]] who joined a silver-smuggling operation under the leader [[Mai]]. Stationed at [[Yakami Fort|Yakami Castle]], Enju sold his supply of [[Arquebus|''teppō'']] to any outlaw willing to meet his price. He sent a message to his fellow cohort [[Fernam Moreno]] to discuss further business plans to increase their profit.<ref name="Silver Smugglers">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The Silver Smugglers]]</ref>

However, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]] met with Lord [[Hosokawa Fujitaka]], who tasked the duo to stop the silver-smuggling ring within his court. Following a note from Fernam Moreno's personal effects, they encountered Enju selling his wares at Yakami Castle. There, they assassinated Enju and acquired a ''teppō'', [[Mai's Warning]], from his personal effects.<ref name="Silver Smugglers"/>
