The '''Church of Saint-Catherine''' is a church in the [[France|French]] {{Wiki|Communes of France|commune}} of [[Sainte-Catherine-de-Fierbois]]. Both the church and the commune are under the patronage of Saint [[Catherine of Alexandria]].

==History==
On 22 February 1429, [[Jeanne d'Arc]] and her entourage stopped at Sainte-Catherine-de-Fierbois on their way to [[Chinon]], managing to celebrating mass in the church. At night, Jeanne and [[Gabriel Laxart]] entered the church and prayed near the altar, close to a statue of Saint Catherine near the altar. Gabriel felt a pull to be closer to the statue, but could not explain it.<ref name = "Chapter 7">''[[Assassin's Creed: Heresy]]'' – Chapter 7</ref>

Days later, on 7 March, Gabriel, now accompannied by [[Jean de Metz]], returned to the village to retrieve a [[Sword of Eden 1|sword]] Jeanne's "voices" said to be hers. Pressed by de Metz, Gabriel admitted to feeling a pull towards the statue, to which de Metz remarked that Jeanne's instructions to locate the sword mentioned that they would need to dig beneath the statue to find it.
