'''Caracalla''' (Latin: ''Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Pius Augustus''; 4 April 188 – 8 April 217), born '''Lucius Septimius Bassianus''', was [[Roman Empire|Rome Emperor]] from 198 to his death.

In 203, the [[Arch of Septimius Severus]] was built commemorating the {{Wiki|Roman–Parthian Wars|Parthian victories}} of Caracalla, his father [[Septimius Severus]] and his brother [[Geta]].

After the death of their father, Caracalla and Geta ruled jointly as Emperors. In 211, however, Geta was assassinated on Caracalla's order. Caracalla had all records of his brother's existence destroyed, including his image and inscriptions on the arch.

Between 212 and 216, the [[Baths of Caracalla]] were built, along with their supplying acqueduct, the [[Aqua Antoniniana|Acqua Antoniniana]]. He also restored the [[Porta Tiburtina]].
