'''Byodoin Temple''' (平等院) is a [[Buddhism|Buddhist]] temple in {{Wiki|Kyoto Prefecture}}, [[Japan]], formerly part of [[Yamashiro|Yamashiro Province]] during the [[Sengoku period]].

In late June 1582, the [[Iga]] ''[[Ninja|kunoichi]]'' [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[samurai]] [[Yasuke]] traveled to the temple to meet the head of the Ise clan. There, they met a sickly [[Scholar|monk]] who revealed himself as [[Ise Sadatame]], the former head of the clan who lost his position after being poisoned by his younger brother [[Ise Sadaoki|Sadaoki]].
