The precocious son of [[Edward Kenway]] and his second wife [[Tessa Kenway]] and heir to the [[Kenway family|Kenway legacy]], Haytham's future in 18th century [[London]] looked bright before the death of his father when he was only 10 years old. Despite having been prepared for entry into the [[Assassins|Brotherhood]] from his youth, Haytham was thereafter indoctrinated into the [[Templars]] by the man who ordered his father's death, [[Grand Master of the Templar Order|Grand Master]] [[Reginald Birch]].
