'''Black Ridge''' was a forest woodland situated in the southwestern reaches of the [[River Valley]] in [[New York]].

The area had at one point housed members of the [[Iroquois]] tribe, as evidenced by a [[Cave paintings|cave painting]] that could be found in one of the region's caverns. During the [[Seven Years' War]], an encampment was set up by settlers, with the Black Ridge territory occasionally being the site of scuffles between the [[France|French]] and the [[United Kingdom|British]].
