That year, fellow [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member [[Yasuke]] was tasked by retainer [[Hori Hidemasa]] with eliminating a group of [[samurai]] that had been involved in the [[Honnō-ji incident]], including [[Sato Genta]]. Naoe and Yasuke tracked Sato to [[Azuchi]], [[Ōmi]], where they assassinated him.
