The '''Basilica del Santo Niño''', officially the '''Minor Basilica of the Holy Child''' and locally known as the '''''Basílica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebú''''', is a [[Church|basilica]] located in {{Wiki|Cebu City}} in the [[Cebu]] province of the [[Philippines]]. Built in 1565, allegedly on the spot where an image of the {{Wiki|Santo Niño de Cebú}} was found during the expedition of {{Wiki|Miguel López de Legazpi}}, it is the oldest {{Wiki|Catholic Church|Roman Catholic}} church in the Philippines.<ref name="Wiki">{{WP|Basilica del Santo Niño}}</ref>

At some point in the early 18th century, [[Hendrik]], a navigator for the [[Dutch East India Company]], visited the basilica and met a [[monk]] who told him of explorer [[Ferdinand Magellan]]'s search for an [[Isu]] [[Piece of Eden|artifact]] on Cebu two centuries prior.
