'''Azai Jukei''' (died 1582), also known as the '''Godai of Water''', was a [[Japan]]ese ''[[Ninja|shinobi]]'' and a former student of the [[Rokkaku clan]]'s patriarch, [[Shōtei|Rokkaku Yoshikata]].

==Biography==
Previously part of an elite class of the {{Wiki|Kōga-ryū}} ''{{Wiki|ninjutsu}}'' school, Azai Jukei and her fellow ''shinobi'' abandoned their mentor Yoshikata after the dismantlement of the Kōga-ryū. Under [[Rokkaku Yoshimitsu]]'s leadership, the group soon called themselves, the [[Godai Shinobi]]. They later allied themselves with the [[Shinbakufu]], who tasked them to murder the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]], [[Yasuke]], and [[Rokkaku Katsuhime]].<ref name="Godai Shinobi">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The Godai Shinobi]]</ref>

In 1582, after the Kakushiba ''ikki'' helped Yoshikata eliminate the Shinbakufu member [[Akechi Kagemitsu]], he gave Naoe a list of his fallen students who were wreaking havoc across Japan, trusting her to aid him end their machinations.<ref name="Showdown in Sakamoto">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Showdown in Sakamoto]]</ref> Following a clue about Jukei's location, they later traveled to the temple [[Mangetsu-ji]] in western [[Ōmi]]. There, they found numerous dead bodies and her writing a poem atop a rock. Thus, they assassinated Jukei and acquired the ''[[tantō]]'', [[Typhoon Tanto]], from her personal effects.<ref name="Godai Shinobi"/>
