Faneuil Hall[edit | edit source]
Faneuil Hall ( pronounced Fan-Yul or Fannel ) was a major marketplace, meeting hall and a prominent landmark in Boston in the 18th Century , since 1742. The most distuingishing feature Faneuil Hall was the Grasshopper weather vane located on top of it.
Description[edit | edit source]
Faneuil Hall was built in 1742 and was named after Peter Faneuil, the local merchant who offered to build it at his own cost as a gift to the town. Faneuil Hall was originally meant to be a place for local farmers to sell their products so that the streets would be rid of the carts crowding them.
However, Faneuil Hall was nicknamed as " The Cradle of Liberty " after the famous meeting hall built on its second floor. People met here to raise their voice against the Stamp Act, which was a tax on all stamps used in postage purposes. It is also famous for the first anti-tea tax meeting held there. At times the anti-British meetings attracted such a large crowd that Faneuil Hall was not big enough to accomodate all of them( in which case they were sent to Old South Meeting Hall ).
An important purpose Faneuil Hall served was in identifying spies. During the war of 1812, people who were suspected to be spies were asked what was on the top of the Faneul Hall weather vane. If their answer was " a grasshopper ", they could pass as a local. If they were wrong, they were convicted as British spies.
During the siege of Boston , the meeting hall here was made into a theatre. But any kinds of plays were banned here
Beacon Hill[edit | edit source]
Beacon Hill is a historic neighborhood of Boston , Massachussets.
Description[edit | edit source]
Beacon Hill was named after the beacon set on the hilltop by the Puritan settlers. This beacon was essentially a ' bucket ful of pitch hanging from a pole '.The beacon was setup to warn the dwellers of the countryside in the scenario of an attack on the town. However, the beacon was never actually used.
As a result of the hill's top being carted off to fill in Mill Pond , the hill is now shorter than it used to be. This benefited the developers as it presented them with the advantage of building on the hilltop and created more land at Mill Pond
After the opening of the new Massachussets State House in 1790, the Hill became a popular place to live in.Developers created upscale housing on the south side of the hill, which overlooks the Boston Common.
The much less posh North side of the hill was inhabited earlier. It went by the nickname 'Mount Whoredom'.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- A viewpoint was located at Beacon Hill.
- Washington referred to the North side as Mount Horam.
Breed's Hill[edit | edit source]
Breed's Hill is a location in Boston, where most of the fighting in the Battle of Bunker Hill took place.
Description[edit | edit source]
Breed's Hill had an advantage over Bunker Hill for its closeness to Boston. It was easier to fire artillery at the city from here. However, it was also a lot easier for Boston to fire back.
There is no specific information about why William Prescott chose this spot over Bunker Hill. One possible reason is that Prescott did not know how vulnerable Breed's Hill actually was.
Johnson Hall[edit | edit source]
Johnson Hall was the home of Sir William Johnson, located in the Frontier.
Description[edit | edit source]
William Johson himself had built the Johnson Hall in 1763. He had about 60 slaves to do the manual labour, earning him the title of the biggest slaveholder in the north. It was more of a homestead than a house - there was a sawmill and a grist mill on the property, and tenant farmers worked on the land.
The exterior was wood painted to make it look like stone. However, the block houses on its either sides were made of actual stone, meant for defensive purposes. The French and Indian War had just ended when the house was built, so it made sense to prepare the house for an attack.

The First Civilization[edit | edit source]
The First Civilization, also known as Those Who Came Before or The Precursors, were an advanced race of humanoids who inhabited the earth about 75000 years ago. They were a highly advanced species, both technologically and biologically.
It was the First Civilization who created the powerful artifacts known as the Pieces of Eden , with which they gave birth to the human race. The humans were created in their own image and were intended to be a work force under their slavery. As humans were not fully able to comprehend the First Civilization or their powers, humans considered them as Gods and revered them. The First Civilization along with the humans, made the city of Eden their home.
In 75010 BC, two humans, Adam and Eve , after coming in contact with an Apple , realised the true nature of their slavery and turned their back on Eden. Soon enough, the war between humans and the First Civilization broke out. The war along with the Toba Catastrophe resulted in the near extinction of their race. Over time, the survivng members of the First Civilization disappeared too, but not without leaving behind their legacy.
Description[edit | edit source]
There exists no records regarding the origins of the First Civilizations. When asked if they were Gods byEzio , Minerva replied that they simply "came before". Anatomically, the First Civilization looked more or less the same as humans. However, their bodies were comparitively taller and their skulls were larger than that of humans. One possible explanation for this is that their skulls housed larger brains than humans granting them a sixth sense which provided them with deeper understanding of science, time and space. It made the First Civilization intellectually superior than other species. They also had a longer lifespan compared to other creatures.
In all visible representations of the First Civilization, they were seen wearing clothes which looked like long robes. Jupiter , Minerva and Juno were seen wearing a crown too.
The First Civilization's knowledge about science and their technological advancements lead to the invention of several artefacts like the Apples, memory storage devices and several other machines which, centuries later, would serve as the basis for many of the inventions by humans. Their intellectual capabilities were extremely crucial after the Toba Catastrophe as it helped them in constructing the Vaults, which were meant to save the humanity from a second catastrophe.
