Talk:Louisiana Brotherhood of Assassins
Agaté, founder of the Louisiana Brotherhood?[edit source]
I have a question: are we sure Agaté founded the Brotherhood in Louisiana? I have checked the database entry, and they never said that Agaté founded the branch, only that he was the Mentor. Did in the Official Guide it was confirmed or some other media?Francesco75 (talk) 19:03, October 29, 2019 (UTC)
- I would need to double-check, but I think this can be deduced from Agaté having been the one to follow Jeanne to New Orleans and establish a new base nearby. Prior to this, Agaté was affiliated with the Saint-Domingue Brotherhood based in Haiti, where he served under François Mackandal. This is explained in Jeanne's journal (or whatever the document recounting her memories are). I am wary that it might technically be possible that Agaté merely took over a pre-existing Assassin branch already based in Louisiana though... Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 19:18, October 29, 2019 (UTC)
- This is why I asked, they never formally said that Agaté was the founder. The branches in the Americas are a bit strange. The West Indies branch operated in the Caribbean islands, Florida and Mexico between the 16th and 18th century, the Saint-Domingue branch became independent, in New England Achilles founded a branch but some Assassins was already operating there like Stoddard during the 17th century. And in the French colonies, De la Tour was from Acadia, so maybe some French Assassins were in Louisiana.Francesco75 (talk) 22:08, October 29, 2019 (UTC)
Louisiana brotherhood merged?[edit source]
Would the Louisiana Brotherhood not have merged aftar Agate's death? Or at least by the united states moving west. Dovahkiin5247123 (talk) 09:33, August 15, 2021 (UTC)
- Yes. We know they merged by the Civil War as Aveline's grandson was the Mentor of the American Brotherhood but we don't know the exact date or circumstances of the merger. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 18:48, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
Name[edit source]
Is the Louisiana Brotherhood outright named as its own, separate entity? I expected it would be folded into the wider American branch. Indeed, I see little difference between this branch logo and the main one, as they both are the Assassin insignia with the "pincers" over 3 stars. There appear to be flowers on this one, but I think that is just localized stylization. – Darman (talk) 22:25, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. The name was given in The Essential Guide. There is no need to speculate on whether or not it eventually got folded into the American Brotherhood. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:34, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
