Title[edit source]
Technically isn't it The Book in which You Are the Assassin - The Silk Road not Assassin's Creed: The Silk Road? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 20:40, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- I believe so, at least according to Google Translate and what I remember of high school French class. As I had said when adding the book to the the AC series page, "Taking liberty with title translation (can be changed later), since "AC: Where you are the Assassin: The Silk Road" doesn't seem quite right". To me, it's a clunky title, and I feel "The book in which..." should have been the subtitle instead or in a star on the cover, like a <<Limited Edition! 8 Color Photos!>> type thing. – Darman (talk) 03:20, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
Late edit just to add: the reason I feel the title is clumsy is because the whole point of AC media, particularly the books and games more than the comics (at least, what I've read), is that we can relive the life of an Assassin, whether the POV is from imagination when reading or on-screen events. Saying "The book in which..." thus to me feels like stating the obvious. – Darman (talk) 10:30, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
I'm French. Le livre dont vous êtes l'Assassin is a reference to Un livre dont vous êtes le héros (A Book in which you are the hero) which was a collection of different gamebooks like Lonewolf or Golden Dragon. This term later became synonym of gamebooks in France. So we can write Assassin's Creed as the collection, Silk Road as a title, for the book in which you are the Assassin maybe the subtitle. Maybe like this Assassin's Creed: The Silk Road (The book in which you are the Assassin).Francesco75 (talk) 11:11, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- I feel Le livre dont vous êtes l'Assassin will be the series name kinda like how we have Fragments and that more of these gamebooks will be released under. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 19:30, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
