Talk:Alfred the Great
Templar[edit source]
Can we say for certain the he went from OotA directly to Templar? He seemingly has zero connection to the Temple of Solomon. We don't know what he called the Order after he started to rebuild it. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:37, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
Page name[edit source]
Why are both Alfred of Wessex and Alexander III of Macedon allowed their epithets instead of just their names like all other nobility here? We do not have that for Richard I of England nor Ivan IV of Russia, who have "the Lionheard" and "the Terrible" as respective redirects. While we try to go by the names of characters as referred to/self-identified in various media, I don't believe he's ever been called "the Great" in Valhalla or its supporting materials, unless I missed it. – Darman (talk) 01:30, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- Charlemagne as well, technically, instead of Charles I. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:22, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- In no order of kingship, we would also include William I ("the Conqueror"), Edward I ("the Elder", son of Alfred), Edward II ("the Confessor"), Æthelred II ("the Unready"), and Edgar I ("the Peaceful") on our list of pages to rename. – Darman (talk) 22:35, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
Some more names to change: Olaf ("the White"), Edmund ("the Martyr"), Charles II ("the Bald"), and Charles III ("the Fat", despite lack of even contemporary evidence for it). – Darman (talk) 01:00, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Family[edit source]
We have a bunch on his father and brother but very little on the rest. I found a place to add in his son and son in law but his wife and daughter are completely missing from the article and I don't know how to best added them. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 10:06, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
