So, about the incorrect renditions of the tale:

  • Bubo the mechanical owl (referred to as Athena's golden-geared owl in dialogue) only makes a brief cameo appearance in Clash 2010. Since the dialogue mentions it leading Perseus to the monster's lair (which didn't happen in the remake), it's likely a reference to the original Clash starring Harry Hamlin.
  • Perseus traveling to Joppa and falling in love with Andromeda also references the original Clash. I can't attest to Joppa being a biblical reference or not since I'm not religious.
  • The child Danae saying "You can't escape your fate" could be a reference to Prince of Persia: Warrior Within as a similar statement ("You cannot change your fate") is made to the Prince in the opening sequence and referenced numerous times throughout the game.

Either way trivia section needs to be reworked into BTS. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:22, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Statue of Zeus

  • When King Akrisios heard a prophecy stating one day his grandson would kill him, he locked his unwed daughter in a room of bronze. Zeus saw her, fell in love with her beauty, and took the form of a divine golden rain to visit with her.

Wooden Debris from Argos

  • A piece of debris from a wooden crate. King Akrisios forced his daughter and her baby into the box and had the crate cast into the wild sea, for he knew if he killed them directly he would earn the wrath of Zeus.

Not sure if these fit better here or in the temple article. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 15:06, August 10, 2020 (UTC)

Should probably go on both pages actually. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:23, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Reference to The Princess Bride[edit source]

Andromeda being described as "only mostly dead" is almost certainly a reference to the scene in the 1987 film The Princes Bride wherein a desperate Inigo and Fezzik bring a "dead" Westley to Miracle Max, in the hopes that he can bring him back to life. Max then declares: "It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive." There is also a kid asking if this will be a "kissing story" which is another Princess Bride allusion. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:24, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
