Gameloft

Gameloft is a French game development company that is known for making mobile and Java games, although they have aided in the creation of console and PC titles. Its main headquarters is in Paris, with various offices situated globally.[1] It notably was the publisher of a few non-canon side-scrolling video games in the Assassin's Creed series.
History[edit | edit source]
The company was originally founded in 1999 by Michel Guillemot, a co-founder of video game publisher Ubisoft.[2] Since then, Gameloft expanded to employ a staff of 4,000 at the end of 2007, up 59% over the end of 2006. Accompanying this, Gameloft posted consolidated revenues of $92m in 2006, $140m in 2007, and $147m for 2008.[3] Formerly a public company traded in the stock exchange Euronext Paris, Gameloft was acquired by the French investing firm Vivendi in 2016 following an aggressive 9-month takeover that began October 2015.[4][5]
