As most of you are probably aware, the fanon section on this wiki has gotten slightly out of hand. Therefore, staff has come up with a possible solution that would benefit both the fanon section and the canon part of the wiki: we plan to create a separate wiki. Now, that probably sounds rather radical, but it's not really as big of a deal as you might think at first. The new wiki would be closely affiliated to us, and would be monitored by staff members from this wiki. As I wrote before, this decision will have several benefits for all of us:
First of all, it would allow this wiki to become an actual encyclopedia again. Right now we are a somewhat awkward mix between encyclopedia and fan-service. When the fanon section was first organized, many preferred it being on a separate wiki, but it was eventually decided to do it here anyway. Since then there has often been confusion as to what is canon and what is not, even with the "ACFanon:" prefix.
Secondly, it would be beneficial for the fanons themselves as well. On the new wiki, we will be able to use all categories we want, since we won't have to distinguish between canonical articles and fanons. Thus it would be possible to categorize, for instance, in time periods, story types, and certain events. The new wiki will also make it easier for authors to collaborate on stories and have joined projects.
An important note is that none of the current fanons will be lost - everything will be transferred to the new wiki. You will not have any work with this, as I will handle the transfer, along with several other staff members. So you don't have to worry about losing all the hard work and time you put into your story, we won't just delete everything here.
Since this is a rather large decision, we're asking the community for their opinion. Please note that voting closes on March fifth around noon.
- With Nesty's busy schedule evidenced in less than frequent edits, I'll close the vote. Motion passed nigh-unanimously with 14 yay votes to 1 nay. Fanons will be migrated to their own unique wiki when preparations can be arranged. Slate Vesper (talk) 23:45, March 20, 2014 (UTC)

- Better choice of action I believe. --Teller Words, On my Screen :O 10:10, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
- I think this'd be good for the people that are here purely for the encyclopedic information, makes it more clear. Seems like the fanon people would benefit from this also. Crook The Constantine District 10:14, February 26, 2014 (UTC)

- Since I would want an almost ridiculous amount of fanon articles to cover a lot of things (I wouldn't want to clog the wiki with these), I think this is a good idea. --Crimson Knight Intercom 16:15, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, yes, and more yes. I'm one of those people who prefers wikis to be straight-up canon, so I would love for this to happen. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 17:42, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Frankly, I think this is the route we should have taken to start with. The Star Wars Fanon Wiki has done alright for itself, so I see no reason why an AC one wouldn't. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 21:43, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Why not? Effort to transfer fanons across and tell everyone that there's now a new site, but after that it'll be easer for everyone. - kabutsu Enter the Animus The Crimson Polls II 23:06, February 26, 2014 (UTC)

- I've never been particularly fond of having fan fiction on a wiki that aims to be an accurate database on a video game series, even if it's separated. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:22, February 28, 2014 (UTC)
Nay
- Making an entirely new wiki is unnecessary, all thats really needed is a massive sort out with the overly fanficy/ridiculous/.O.T.T. stuff being moved to the fanon section's deviantart account. That would greatly reduce the number of fanon articles to a more managable amount. GWR4019 (talk) 21:19, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
- I abstain, solely on the basis that I oppose any action that may cause a split in the community. I agree with the reasons for this change and the advantages proposed. It is my concern for the loss of valuable members in our community that causes my abstention. I will support any action the majority endorses. - Can we wrap this up? --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 23:11, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
- I believe Nesty was hoping to have Vatsa help her in tranferring the fanon articles to their own wiki. However, Vatsa hasn't responded as of late, which is why the splitting of fanon and non-fanon is taking a bit.
