Lens station
Lens station (French: Gare de Lens) is a railway station in Lens, France. Originally built in 1860,[1] it remains an important transit point to this day.[2]
History[edit | edit source]
Destroyed along much of the city during World War I, it was quickly rebuilt, with its new shape evoking a locomotive, illustrating the Art Deco influence of the period. To compensate for the deficiencies of a soil weakened by underground mining tunnels carved by the local mining company, the foundations were reinforced with hydraulic jacks to prevent it from collapsing.[2]
In the 2020s, Assassin ally Simon Mulio visited the station during his search for a Templar treasure and, after locating it, he moved it through the tunnels underneath the station before escaping. After his disappearance, an Abstergo employee tracking him also visited the location.[2]
