The Louisiana Bayou was a swamp-like region located in Louisiana, near the city of New Orleans.
History
In 1766, an ex-Assassin called Baptiste traveled to the bayou, posing as the deceased François Mackandal. After obtaining a number of followers to his cause, he planned to carry out a sacred ceremony on the Eve of Saint John. However, his true purpose was to take control of the bayou's smuggler operations, poison the nobles of New Orleans, force Agaté out of hiding and deliver him to the Templars, who in return for grant him membership into the Templar Order. This plot was later uncovered by the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré, who disrupted Baptiste's ritual and assassinated him.
In 1771, Spanish soldiers under the command of a Templar called Vázquez entered the bayou and attempted to seize control of its smuggling operations. Fearing they would eventually discover the location of Agaté's hut, Aveline hurried to the bayou and warned her mentor of the impending danger. Under his instruction, Aveline followed the soldiers through the bayou to each voodoo checkpoint set up by Agaté. Using her blowpipe, she silently poisoning each of Vázquez's soldiers into believing they had been placed under a voodoo curse and fled the bayou.
Following this, Aveline and her smuggler allies Roussillon and Élise Lafleur discovered Vázquez's plans to divert a supply ship. Aveline tampered with lighthouse on Lake Pontchartrain, causing the ship to run aground on an island nearby. After defeating Vázquez's guards, Aveline and the smugglers set out to plunder the ship's cargo.
In 1773, Roussillon and Élise were tasked by the Spanish with delivering supplies to Patriots fighting in the American Revolutionary War. However, rogue Spanish soldiers hired by Vázquez were attempting to steal back the supplies. Aveline then arrived in the bayou with an escaped slave named George, and asked the smugglers if the Patriots could escort him north. The smugglers said they would, provided Aveline and George helped them hold back the Spanish as they delivered the supplies.
Aveline successfully defeated the soldiers as the smugglers navigated through the bayou and reached their destination. After meeting with the Patriots, Aveline asked if they would allow George to accompany them. They agreed, accepting him into their ranks.
In 1777, Aveline traveled to the bayou to inform her mentor Agaté of the identity of the "Company Man", the head of the Templar Order. Agaté, unable to accept his failure to protect his student and paranoid that Aveline had sided with the Templars, attacked her. Aveline overpowered him and confronted her mentor at the top of his hut. However, after Aveline spared his life, he could not live with the humiliation and dove to his death. Aveline attempted to grab him, but could only grasp his necklace with tore away from him as he fell.

Chichen Itza was a Mayan city located in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Home to a number of cenotes and underground cave systems, Chichen Itza housed a number of notable landmarks including the Platform of Venus and the Platform of the Eagles and Jaguars, The Great Ball Court and the Pyramid of Kukulkan.[1]
During the 18th century, it was the location of an archaeological site run by the Templars, who were using slave labor to excavate Mayan ruins in search of First Civilization artifacts.[1]
History
The Prophecy Disk
In 1764, the Templars discovered proof of a First Civilization artifact located in Chichen Itza called the Prophecy Disk, and planned to divert slaves and vagrants from Louisiana to a work camp in Chichen Itza. Through working with high-ranking French and Spanish officials in New Orleans, the Templars, particularly Rafael Joaquín de Ferrer, began transporting workers to the Templar worksite in Mexico to excavate ruins they believed to house the Prophecy Disk.[1]
In 1769, after learning of the transportation of slaves to Mexico, the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré traveled to Chichen Itza to discover the extent of the Templar plans. Whilst there, she uncovered evidence that her mother, Jeanne, was stationed in Chichen Itza and a map leading to location of an artifact deep within a cenote. After traversing the cave system, Aveline unearthed a fragment of the Prophecy Disk inside a chamber constructed by the First Civilization.[1]
However, she was then confronted by de Ferrer, but managed to overpower his guards and assassinate the Templar before escaping through the mines he had entered through. At the end of the tunnels, she encountered her mother, Jeanne. However, Jeanne was fearful that the Assassins had sent Aveline to kill her, and refused to disclose any information to her daughter before fleeing the mines.[1]
In 1772, Aveline returned to Chichen Itza to uncover the second half of the Prophecy Disk. Whilst there, she made peace with her mother, who directed her to an abandoned canoe in another cenote. Aveline navigated through the subterranean caves and came across another room built by the First Civilization, where she recovered the final piece of the Prophecy Disk.[1]
