"Oh, I try NEVER to think."
―Roussilllon.[src]

Roussillon was a smuggler stationed in the Louisiana Bayou, and a close associate of fellow smuggler Élise Lafleur and the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré.

In 2012, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the entertainment branch of the Templar company Abstergo Industries, as part of their geosimulation workspace on the portable version of the Animus console, under the title of the Rogue.

Biography

Meeting Aveline

In 1766, Rousillon and Élise faced opposition from thugs who were attempting to seize control of the area where the smugglers were based. They successfully defeated the men, with the aid of Aveline who intervened and silently eliminated the invaders. Five years later, Rousillon, Élise and Aveline planned to divert a supply ship by disabling the nearby lighthouse. The ship washed up on an island nearby, and Aveline and the smugglers set out to plunder the ship's cargo after defeating the men guarding the vessel.

Supplying the Patriots

Two years later, Aveline arrived in the bayou and asked for Rousillon and Élise's help in escorting an escaped slave named George north. However, the smugglers were already dealing with a group of Spanish soldiers under the direction of a Templar called Vázquez, who were attempting to steal supplies that the smugglers had been tasked with delivering to American patriots.

Seeing a means to an end, Aveline offered her and George's assistance in protecting the smugglers as they delivered the supplies – Roussillon and Élise accepted, to which Aveline swiftly provided. Aveline then asked the Patriots whether they would provide safe passage for George if he were to join their cause. They agreed, accepting him into their ranks.

Characteristics and personality

Rousillon was a humorous and witty person, often conversing with his business partner Élise in a sarcastic manner. He would also often make whimsical jokes, commenting on situations in an amusing way.
