Sigrun (died c.75,000 BCE) was a dwarven spy for the Sons of Ivaldi in Svartálfaheimr.

Biography

During the Muspel invasion of Svartalfheim, Sigrun and fellow spy Halstein fled to the Jordber Shelter and followed the shelter chief Brudd's directive to keep eyes on the Muspels' actions. They later traveled to Eitri and found the Æsir lord Havi injured and semi-conscious. Together, they dragged him out of Eitri and towards their shelter.[1] Aiding the Asgardian lord, they traveled underground to find their gift for Havi. After inspecting the cavern, Sigrun found the hidden compartment and gifted the Hugr-Rip to Havi.[2]

Sigrun and Halstein followed their newfound ally out of the cavern but found a Muspelheim alarm nearby, which made Havi ask them to hide. Out of sight, they watched while Havi fought Sinmara. After Havi bested Sinmara, Sigrun and Halstein came out of hiding and led Havi to their shelter. After some time, they found the shelter and met with Brudd. After Havi found an ally with the shelter chief, Sigrun gave Havi one more gift, silica, before Havi thanked them.[2]

Death

After they rested from saving Havi, Sigrun and Halstein came across following a group of Muspel warriors under the seidr Calder. However, they were then caught, beaten, and made into prisoners. Traveling to the Sol-ok-Mani Vault in Svaladal, Calder and his Muspels brought both dwarves inside one of the vaults. Unfortunately, a ritual occurred when Calder acquired the Salakar from the wall. With the Salakar, Calder stole their hugrs, leaving their physical bodies behind while their consciousnesses lied within the artifact. Afterwards, Havi found their corpses and promised to avenge them.[3]
