Clan Mothers were Native American women who posed as the elder of their villages. After the conflict of the French and Indian War, the Kanien'kehá:ka Clan Mother of Kanatahséton met with Ratonhnhaké:ton and allowed him to interact with the Crystal Ball that she had in her possession. As such, it allowed him to enter the Nexus, where he communicated with Juno and learned of the Assassins.
Many years later, the Clan Mother met with an adult Ratonhnhaké:ton and told him of the whereabouts of Kanen'tó:kon and other Kanien'kehá:ka men, who were attempting to attack the continental soldiers.
Some time following Kanen'tó:kon's death, this Clan Mother spoke with Ratonhnaké:ton once more, where she revealed to him that she planned to move their people to the west to avoid the American Revolutionary War, like many of the other nations had been doing. After his unpleasant reaction, she told him that she would do what was best for her people, to which Ratonhnaké:ton then left the village.
