An Assassin atop a Naga statue

The Nagas are a divine race of half-human, half-cobra being present in many Asian religious traditions, including Hinduism and Buddhism.[1]

The Khmer people of Cambodia often depicted the Naga as a seven-headed cobra in many of their statues. In 1524, the Assassins members of an expedition to the area encountered some of these statues and used their incredible height to scout ahead at different points during their mission.[2][3]
