Matsu's House

Matsu's House was the home of former shinobi Matsu, "auntie" of Fujibayashi Naoe and friend to her father Fujibayashi Nagato in Iga, Japan.
History
On 6 October 1579, Matsu was at her home, tending to her garden, and was soon greeted by Naoe, who came to help her upon her father's insistence. Matsu then tasked her to investigate her missing crops while she cooked Naoe's favorite, misoshiru. Upon Naoe's return, Matsu served misoshuru to Naoe, who explained that two ashigaru stole from her garden but warned her of an impending attack. While eating, an anxious Nagato came and told them that Oda Nobunaga's son Nobukatsu was coming to attack. Upon leaving, Nagato told Naoe to stay and protect Matsu, but after a while, Naoe began to feel useless and wanted to fight. Matsu agreed and they left the house to begin their aid.[1]
By 1582, after the invasion, Matsu's house was heavily damaged as a result and her garden destroyed. Matsu had spent her time sleeping on a futon inside the Fujibayashi's ruined home, in hopes that both father and daughter would return. At some point, she left a note for Naoe detailing her departure and her last journey giving up hope that either would return.[2]
