Biography
Search at Masyaf
By 1511, Leandros' Templar forces had overrun the Assassins' fortress in Masyaf, Syria, and Leandros himself had acquired one of the Seals of Altaïr. When the Grand Master of the Assassin Order Ezio Auditore da Firenze visited the city in the same year, Leandros' soldiers attacked him. Despite suffering many losses, they eventually managed to capture him.[1]
Leandros' forces later led the Assassin up a tower in the fortress to be executed by hanging, and Leandros personally tied the noose around Ezio's neck. However, as soon as he did, Ezio lunged back at him and managed to slip out of the noose and escape down the tower.[1]
Shortly after, Leandros left Masyaf by carriage, and was closely pursued by Ezio in a carriage of his own. Eventually as they rammed each other on a mountain path, Leandros managed to outmanouvre Ezio's carriage, which was finally felled by a bomb from one of Leandros' men, and fell over the edge of the cliff. Convinced Ezio was dead, Leandros turned to take refuge in a mountain village, but was alerted to Ezio climbing back up the cliff by one of his men. Seeing Ezio was injured, Leandros ordered his men to kill him, before fleeing into the village.[2]
Death
- Leandros: "What does it take to kill you?"
- Ezio: "Don't you ever stop howling?"
- —Leandros to Ezio before his death.[src]
Unbeknownst to Leandros, Ezio bested his men and was silently pursuing him through the village.
Eventually, Leandros headed into a fortress, at which point Ezio revealed himself. After taunting Ezio, Leandros boasted there was nowhere for Ezio to run. Ezio simply replied "Not for me, and not for you!" before severing the chain holding the portcullis open. Leandros fled up a tower, Ezio not far behind. Once they both reached the top of the tower, Leandros asked Ezio what it would take to kill him, to which Ezio asked if Leandros ever stopped howling, before stabbing him to death, and retrieving the Seal of Altaïr from his corpse.[2]
