The Kingdom was the landscape that connected the areas of Masyaf, Acre, Jerusalem, Damascus, and Arsuf. Within the Kingdom were numerous small villages, dwarfed by the massive cities they connected.

Third Crusade

During the Third Crusade, the Kingdom acted as a neutral territory between the Crusaders in Acre, and the Saracen controlled cities of Damascus and Jerusalem. The western end of the Kingdom was actively militarized by the Lionheart Crusaders, while the eastern region fell under the jurisdiction of the Saracen army. Both sides possessed fortified armies, that defended against one another and the Assassins. The Templars also had a large presence throughout the Kingdom, with 60 of their knights being posted throughout.

Guards

The Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad was able to find guard patrols, guard camps, and archer towers in the Kingdom. All guards patrolling in formation within the Kingdom were constantly informed of Altaïr's presence and would attack the Assassin if they noticed any socially unacceptable behavior. Archers, however, would attack him on sight. Altaïr was able to cross the region in haste, through the use of horses, and he would instantly become anonymous when he returned to the Assassin-controlled part of the Kingdom.

Trivia

  • The player can collect 100 King Richard Flags that are located throughout the Kingdom to complete an Additional Memory, and in the Xbox 360 version, an achievement. In addition, there are 60 Templars to be killed, and 12 view points to be reached.
  • When leaving Masyaf for the first time, one of the Assassins in the Kingdom glows red while using Eagle Vision on him, but when you attack him, other Assassins will attack you.
    • This Assassin is actually Jamal, the traitor inside the Assassin Order that, along with Masun, opened the gates for the Templar attack at Masyaf. He was to originally be a mission target, but the mission was cut and the character remained as a minor Easter egg.
