Hongū

Hongū (本宮町) was a village in northern Kii, Japan.[1]

History

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and samurai Yasuke and his archery apprentice Rin arrived into town and met with a local merchant to give back a bracelet they found on a bandit. While there, they spent the day together by eating the village's food and enjoying the arts. In the end, Yasuke and Rin committed to being good friends before she left back home.[2] While there, he and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe established a kakurega.[3]
