Alouette (French: Lark) was an eagle companion to the Frankish Hidden One Oisel in the late 9th century CE. In 870, Alouette joined Oisel in his travels along the Silk Road. During an assault on a fortress held by the Snake-Eaters, Alouette was struck by a dagger thrown by Dunya, the leader of the mercenary group, and died instantly.[1]
