Gyllir was the horse and companion animal to the Icelandic skald and Swedish Hidden One Thorvald Hjaltason. He accompanied Thorvald through Uppsala during his mission to combat Styrbjörn the Strong's against his uncle, King Eric the Victorious, for the throne of Svealand.[1][2]
