Eden or the Garden of Eden (Hebrew גַּן עֵדֶן, Gan ʿEdhen; Arabic: جنة عدن), was described in the Book of Genesis as being the place where the first man, Adam, and his wife, Eve, lived after they were created by God. Literally, the Bible spoke about a garden in Eden (Gen. 2:8). This garden formed part of the Genesis creation narrative and theodicy of the Abrahamic religions, often being used to explain the origin of sin and mankind's mistakes.

Eden was a place where the people of the first civilization were known to exist. They were an advanced race of beings, and are believed to have created humanity, whom they enslaved using technology later known as the Pieces of Eden in order to build and expand their civilization.

Adam and Eve were believed to have been the first humans capable of resisting the power of the artifacts. They were known to have escaped the compound along with an artifact later known as the Apple of Eden.
