Charicles was an associate of Loukianos, one of the lackeys of Critias, the leader of the Thirty Tyrants. In 404 BCE, he managed to procure an invitation for a gathering at Critias' house for Loukianos, as a way to repay his debt. In his correspondence to Loukianos, he also warned his associate to stop calling Critias his friend, as it might lead to both of their deaths.[1]
