Boot (died 1862) was a thief who worked as a courier for Robert Waugh, a photographer involved in the pornographic industry and a member of the British Rite of the Templar Order.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1862, Boot pickpocketed a watch, unaware that it was broken and an hour late, on his way to a meeting with Waugh in order to retrieve some photographic plates. Reaching the St. Giles Rookery, the thief was attacked and interrogated by the Assassin Ethan Frye, who wanted to know his employer's identity.

Threatened to be cut in the carotid artery with Ethan's Hidden Blade, Boot wet himself and was forced to answer truthfully. However, Waugh, who was already present and witnessed the interrogation, shot Boot in the head to silence him before the thief could reveal his name.
