William Elphinstone

William George Keith Elphinstone (1782 – 23 April 1842), nicknamed Elphy Bey, was a Major General in the British Army during the 18th century.

He is best known for his role in leading the 1842 retreat from Kabul during the First Anglo-Afghan War.
