The Seals of Altaïr were a collection of five First Civilization artifacts[1] concealed with information and the memories of it's original owner: Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. When brought together, the seals would unlock a powerful weapon hidden deep within the fortress of Masyaf; a weapon sought by both the Assassins and the Templars.[2]

In 1257, Altaïr passed the seals onto Niccolò Polo along with the Codex during Masyaf's fall, in hopes he would be able to hide them for future generations. Niccolò succeeded and hid the five seals in the city of Constantinople.

In 1511, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Grand Master of the Assassin Order, learned of the seals' existence from a captive Templar during his exploration of the aged Assassin fortress, and traveled to Constantinople in the hope of obtaining them.[2]

Trivia

  • From Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade each seal is said to be made from stone and have a hole in the centre.
  • It has been confirmed in an article by computerandvideogame.com that four of the five Seals of Altair are hidden throughout Constantinople, which will be individually located in each of the districts, (Constantin, Beyazid, Imperial, and Galata), with the final seal being in Templar hands.(Note please put the following in properly i dont know how.)It has been stated that the seals have similiar capabilities with the animus both with one difference the seals store memorys while the animus searches for them in the users dna.
