Hey Sadel, just noticed your creation of the "Category:Residents of Memphis", and I just wanted to let you know that actually, it would be better for it to be named "Category:Memphites". (Wikipedia says that the demonyn of Memphis, Tennessee is Memphian but Wiktionary & other usual sources on Egypt says the demonym of Memphis, Egypt is Memphite...) When preferable, a demonym should always be used because it is simply more concise. This goes with "Category:Residents of Siwa" as well. It really should just be "Category:Siwans", but I have not found the time to correct this yet. When creating categories by a city or town, you should only title it with the word "residents" if there isn't a known demonym on hand you can use to summarize it in a single word. Villa Auditore would be such a case because demonyms aren't usually used for a single estate. I'm not so sure about Masyaf since I don't know if we can figure out the correct demonym for it. For that matter, the very old category of "Davenport Homestead residents" should also be renamed to "Davenport Homesteaders" when we have the time.

Anyway, I do really appreciate you for taking the time to create these categories! :) [[User:Sol Pacificus|<span style="color:#990000;font-family:Monotype Corsiva;font-size:17px">'''Sol Pacificus'''</span>]][[User talk:Sol Pacificus|<span style="color:#D4AF37;font-family:Californian FB;font-size:11px">(Cyfiero)</span>]] 07:11, September 17, 2018 (UTC)

Advice

Instead of editing sections and making them past tense, you can edit the entire page. Kooala Cupcake. - Leave me a message! 14:00, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I know. But I chose to edit in sections just in case the browser/computer decides to crash in the middle of, or worse, at the end of a bigger edit spree. ;) Sadelyrate (talk) 14:07, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for helping me fix the Idun page. Really appreciate it.

Damn, you're going crazy with the edits today lolLost Fragment (talk) 12:21, February 15, 2013 (UTC)

Had time, had the inclination, cleaned up coding. More informative edits to follow, hopefully. :) Sadelyrate (talk) 06:50, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

Please note that you need to source any and all images you upload to the wiki in accordance to our image policy. For more information on how to source images, check this page. Also check the information about naming images appropriately. Badly named or unsourced images will be deleted. Feel free to reupload your deleted image with proper sourcing. Thank you. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 03:26, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me that Add Photo doesn't have the form preferred. I think I fixed what I'd uploaded; I'll take better care in the future. Sadelyrate (talk) 08:01, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Good jorb.

Good job on TLA images. One question, was that heavy film grain effect seen in some shots actually present during the memory? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 19:24, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, there are parts in the memories that... are rather curious, including occasionally having that film grain-like effect; the only thing I've done to the screenshots is to crop out the black borders. I'm working on getting the rest up in a moment. Sadelyrate (talk) 19:35, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
We need Desmond's Journey ones too, apparently. You're game for it? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:51, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
On them. :) Sadelyrate (talk) 18:58, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

You have shown yourself to be a valuable editor already, but we of the Bureau think you can be even better, hence this invitation. Nesty Contact me! 19:49, August 10, 2013 (UTC)

This is an honour. Due to things not entirely in my control, I'd feel better to give this the consideration it deserves, and will be in touch via the appropriate channels. Sadelyrate (siniath) 16:41, August 11, 2013 (UTC)

Collectables/Collectibles

Hey, Sadelyrate

You're uh, not the first to have tried adding a "collectibles" category, but in previous instances, it's always been deleted by Sima, because "collectibles" is a kind of OOU term. I don't see this being any different, but perhaps talk to Sima as to why this category isn't accepted. In the mean time, it might be a good idea to stop adding articles to the collectibles category. Sorry for bothering ^^; Crookandcharlatan (talk) 09:31, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

My mistake, hopefully understandable. Oh well, I'll just go and undo it. :) Sadelyrate (siniath) 09:32, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

Paladin3510's image

Like I said in my response to your comment, I have put the correct sourcing in place at the image location. However, I have now also messaged Paladin3510 via deviantart to ask his permission anyway. I don't think it is 'legally required', but I didn't even think of that tbph.

Greetings,

Actually, it is "legally required." That's more or less what copyright's all about.

Related to this, there's you licensing the picture under CC. Unless the artist has licensed the artwork thus, you've committed a greater crime than simple theft; you've essentially claimed that you have the right to control the artwork's distribution.

The image is properly sourced, yes. However, sourcing <> permission. Since we live in the world that we do, there is no excuse to neglect asking an artist (alive, online) for permission to use their artwork. In any way, shape or form. For all anyone can know, the picture you've chosen to use (since it "seemed to fit") is a picture the artist made for their own personal use, of their own character. (Also posted here for, hopefully, closure's sake; methinks we should reserve conversation for one thread, though.) Sadelyrate (siniath) 07:09, August 30, 2013 (UTC)

Madeleine de L'Isle

Hey Sade,

I'm going to expand the Madeleine de L'Isle article pretty soon, but I noticed you'd left a message on her talkpage at some point:

"There's really nothing known about Madeleine's life before the part she played in Liberation? Her surname just makes me wonder..."

And it sorta made me wonder what you meant in regards to her surname. I'm actually quite interested to see if her name carries more meaning than you'd think (and, as to why the creators decided to name her as such). I've just googled her name and all I came up with is the "Îles de la Madeleine" or Magdalen Islands, which are part of the Canadian province of Quebec. I just wanted to know if that's what you were referring to as well, or if you had hit upon something else. As a sidenote, her database entry does confirm that she was born in New Orleans.

Thanks for reading :) Crook The Constantine District 20:13, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

My wonderings were because I'd run into Viscount De L'Isle and the De L'Isle family. Nothing that had any relevance to any of the games, but just something that had piqued my curiosity. :) Sadelyrate (siniath) 17:47, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

Hi!

Heya, Sade. How's it going? You still around? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:20, July 29, 2014 (UTC)

Around occasionally, yeah. Active... not even close. Came to take a look due to a sudden spell of nostalgia. ;) Sadelyrate (siniath) 11:06, November 6, 2014 (UTC)

It can be know why you are deleting the information?

If you do not give me a reason I will not stop. Egyth98 13:49, July 13, 2018 (UTC)Egyth90 (talk)

If this is about Khaliset, then it's because while she knew about Those Who Came Before (First Civilization, Isu), we cannot know the extent of her knowledge. Sadelyrate (siniath) 13:52, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

Egyptian mythology

Not sure if you think you're funny, or you're just being rude, but the message you posted as changelog in your edit on the page Egyptian mythology was quite unnecessary. I'm not amused. I've written that article all by myself, with no help whatsoever and English isn't my main language. My English isn't bad, it's just with such a big article that i'm so focussed on the content I oversee some language discrepanties. It's not easy to have the story in your head in your own language, and having translate it to English and making sure the syntax of the sentences is correct.

Calling the language "atrocious" is an atrocious act on its own. Kennyannydenny (talk) 11:30, August 13, 2018 (UTC)

Pray tell, what information in that article did I delete that was not against the Manual of Style of this Wiki? What I did was to make the article better fit the guidelines laid out in that, help where I could, at least a little.
As for calling the language atrocious... well, English isn't my main language either. It might not have been the best word to describe it, but at that moment, that day, I felt it best described it.
To be honest, I'm surprised this Wiki even has an article by that name, given that there aren't similar ones for Greco-Roman, Chinese or, say, Native American mythologies. Sadelyrate (siniath) 16:03, August 13, 2018 (UTC)
I wasn't talking about your changes, I'm fine with those, they really did improve the article. I was talking about the unfriendly words in the summary. Kennyannydenny (talk) 08:59, August 14, 2018 (UTC)
I think that Sadelyrate really was a bit blunt at the spur of the moment, a common error that many of us have made. However, at the same time, he wasn't entirely unjustified for being so alarmed by the state of the article, and I really appreciate him going over it and fixing it. I, myself, can get that anxious when I see an article loaded with syntax and grammar errors, so I understand the feeling. Of course, the edit summary could have been politer, and we should always remember to not sound too agitated because this can indeed come across as rude and unwelcoming to new users. As well, we should always try our best to be patient about the fact different users have varying levels of English. But I'm sure it wasn't Sadel's intention to insult anyone in particular because he was unlikely to be aware that there was a sole author and who that was; his harsh words were directed at the article alone. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:29, August 14, 2018 (UTC)
Also, I interpreted it as not at all hostile, but just anxious. Your hard work on the article is stilll much appreciated Kenny. :) Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:31, August 14, 2018 (UTC)
Sure, me too. I also appreciate the fact that he improved the article. He can be as alarmed as he likes, some people do really hate grammer errors. Me too in fact, and if I would've spotted them, I would've fixed them. It's just, after you wrote a long text, and read over it dozens and dozens of times for content errors and gramatical erorrs, you tend to overlook things. And I put a lot of work in that article. As long as he's being polite, it's all fine by me. We're a wiki so people may change everything if they'd think it'd improve things. I just couldn't stand the summary, and for me, it did sound really unfriendly. But we'll keep it at this. I couldn't let it slide completely as I wouldn't have slept otherwise last night (I do take things people say to heart, even though I don't know you personally), but let's just forget it. I'm sorry Sadelyrate I reacted the way I did, I grew up with people bickering and being sarcastic around me, so I tend to take things personally. Kennyannydenny (talk) 08:59, August 14, 2018 (UTC)
For what it's worth, I do apologize for using that word. It was truly aimed at the text, not the writer (didn't realize it was the work of just one person), and badly chosen. For my part, will try to be more courteous in the future, even if anxious or something. Sadelyrate (siniath) 11:08, August 14, 2018 (UTC)

Ah Tabai

I saw your recent edits on his page. Is there any concrete evidence that his name is just an alias? I know in most cultures the names or deities don’t get used but my grandfather is named Jesus so there are some exceptions. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:37, September 16, 2018 (UTC)

That seems a pretty good inference then, I didn’t know his database entry said that. I feel that his intro paragraph should address this but the ambiguity makes it hard. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:07, September 16, 2018 (UTC)
