I can tell you this, if AC outlives Call of Juarez and they are still great games like the first three... you probably won't be able to get rid of me :P

Hello mentor.

I have a (at least I think so) simple question. I'm not new to the wiki at all, but it's only very recently Iv'e began to edit stuff when I see somethng is wrong or something is needed and so on. My question is, how do you "make a word or sentence a link?". for example, if a sentence containing the name "Rodrigo Borgia" needs editing, and thus not having Rodrigo Borgia at the same spot, how do I make it so that if someone clicks the "Rodrigo Borgia" I typed, it automaticly takes them to the article with information about him? Same thing for sentences, I want to be able to make certain words, names or sentences link to the articles about them, how do i do that?

If I might intervene here... Superfritiof851, to link a mention of say, Ezio Auditore to his article page when in editing mode, go up to the toolbars above the editing box. You should see boxes that are Bold 'B'' and italic 'i, directly to the right is another button that looks like a chain. Highlight the text you want to link, in this case 'Ezio Auditore', click that button and a box will appear with the targeted article page and you can even edit how the linked text appears.

Afterwards, the bit o' text you linked should appear like this. If you did something wrong and the page it tries to access does not exist, it will appear as a red link.

Monobook

Hey Sima, I created that monobook theme. The code can be found at User:Godisme/monobook.css. I've tested it around the site and it works quite well aside from some minor text run overs on the mainpage due to the layout of this site being designed around the wikia skin and not monobook. I gave the wiki a large content area and used the color scheme and background of the wikia skin and went with a more rounded look for the overall feel. Just thought I'd let you know about something that needs changing that I don't think I can do myself. In the templates for factions, such as the Assassins or Mercenaries, one of the sections is "Leaders Title", but it should be "Leader's Title", since it's possession. News Post

Just a heads-up. Blaidd and Teller also wanted to do the newspost for two reasons. First, they thought you would be out for long and second, Vatsa failed to lock the comments for the departure blog, and people were already posting screenshots and speculation in it. Twelve asked for permission from those two and Blaidd and Teller agreed, since the departure blogpost was filling up with irrelevant stuff. We were under the impression that you would not be back until Monday, by which time it'd be a bit too late to post this news; we wanted it out there as fast as possible. I was unable to view the screenshots and Teller was busy with something, so that only left 12; no else was online. 12 also didn't do it by himself, as well as having discussed it among Teller and I, I helped him with how to lay it out, such as the Staff emblem, sources, and date. Sorry about that, but I rarely use filth (for proof check my other wiki accounts) unless I am super pissed or annoyed but even then I say something like this : "Shut the __ up" I don't say the exact words when I insult someone. But the people on this wiki that force me to use such words are certain anons who think they are so high and mighty. They need to learn some respect and stop creating useless arguments about the games faults. You have to add them in source mode. Press the "Source" button at the top of the editing screen when editing and everything will turn into code. Then you will see <gallery> and </gallery>. Hey there again Sima, I was just wondering how Ezio could have multiple illegitimate children. Doesn't the animus go to the memories of the next in the bloodline when they are born? Clay is a descendant of Ezio but had access to far less memories than Desmond did, thus meaning Ezio had a child born some time before 1512. The Animus shows the genetic memory of the user's ancestors. Because Desmond isn't descended from that illegitimate child but from Flavia, Desmond could have been able to watch all of Ezio's memories up until the conception of Flavia. -- Master Sima Yi 19:47, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

Facebook and Fanon

Sima, this has been on my mind for a while, and I figured it would sort itself out after some time had passed, but it hasn't.

Whenever I've looked on the official AC Wiki Facebook page, no mention to the emergence of Fanon on here has been mentioned by Steen, seeing as it's his role to do that.

I would have figured that since it's been popular by the users here and has brought about Featured Fanons and a news post about it, it would have been something worthwhile to put on Twitter and Facebook, in order to bring more editors here if they'd like to add their stories.

Actually Slate, I made mention of it at the beginning of the month on this post. It may have only been a subtle mention, but it's there. The Fanon section is only a feature here on the wiki, so over publicizing it may not be the best thing to do. After all, we are first and foremost an online encyclopedia, we mustn't let the fanon section eclipse that - which it easily could if over publicized. All you have to do is look at the recent feed these days. Where does a hefty bulk of the activity lie? Hey Sima, I'm a little confused when it comes to Adam.

How could he be a genetic hybrid of the First Civilization and humanity if he and Eve stole the Apple and rebelled against them, causing the uprising between them and humans?

If he was the one to start the war between them, then that would mean the catastrophe hadn't already happened. If that's true, then wouldn't the First Civilization have children after that, which would imply that he didn't have their genes in his veins?

I don't really understand the logic behind your questions, but I'll try to clear it up. Adam and Eve were hybrids of humans and the First Civilization, though I don't think the First Civilization knew or recognized them as such so they were used as slaves regardless. Because of their genes, they could not be controlled by the Pieces of Eden and eventually escaped and stole an Apple. I assume this eventually caused the world wide rebellion, but I'm not sure. During the actual rebellion which took place after Adam and Eve's escape, the Toba catastrophe happened, which neither the humans or the First Civilization saw coming with the war going on. -- Master Sima Yi 23:16, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

I thought it was established that the First Civilization only started having children of mixed genes after the Toba catastrophe, in order to try and find some way of maintaining their legacy and providing humanity with a better chance of survival.

If we go from the assumption that there were no hybrids before then, seeing as there would be no motivation for them to do so, it would be impossible that Adam and Eve's attempted escape was the thing that prompted the First Civilization-Human War, since they would not have the genes necessary to resist the Pieces of Eden.

From there, there's only two explanations, with the first being that the Pieces of Eden had to be physically used by the First Civilization to make humans act like slaves, and that Adam and Eve's sudden rebellion took the First Civilization members by surprise, allowing them to steal and make a getaway with the Apple of Eden.

However, the second explanation would be that Adam and Eve's escape happened after the Toba catastrophe, giving them the reason that they could resist the effects of the Pieces of Eden.

Then again, Ubisoft could just throw a spanner in the works and say that Adam and Eve were conceived to be hybrids in secret. Slate Vesper 23:56, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

I don't want to intrude, but I read in the Assassin's Creed: Revelations Official Game Guide that the First Civ created Adam and Eve during the war, because they knew that they couldn't resist the catastrophe and so they spliced their DNA sequence into two humans: Adam and Eve. Adam held half of the DNA sequence, and Eve held the other half. This meant that if the DNA holders conceived children, the First Civilization could be reborn. The First Civilization still attempted to interbreed after the Catastrophe, because Juno talked about it in the Colloseum vault. "Desmond is a distant son of Adam, half human and - though the manifestations are subtle - half god-race."

Templates + My sandbox

Hey Sima, I was recently think of going over some templates to try and fix any grammar edits that might be in them, but whenever I tried to add a second one to my sandbox, it would stick the second template inside the border of the first, so I kind of went off the idea.

If you know what might be happening when I try that, could you tell me what I might be doing wrong so I can prevent it from occuring again?

I doubt they'd be of much use, since it would be just "Blabla was a trailer for blabla release on blabla," which I doubt would be a very informative and long article. A website called at7addak said that William Prescott delivered the "don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" and then informed Connor of his next target, while it is in fact Israel Putnam who performs that role. Weapons

Policy Editing

Hey Sima, I just had a quick question. What's the protocol on editing Policy pages? I was thinking of expanding the Sourcing Policy, mostly to update the list of reliable sources, propose a new format for "Citing a source", and add a format for Internet article sources.

What do these pictures add to the page? Do you want to have a picture of every single frame on the page once the game is out? We only put officially released images on there, not bad quality pictures taken with a camera or ones pixelated by YouTube. Not necessarily that, but I can speak out of experience that it's best to not add any more images than we have to... Multiplayer Abilities

It recently came to my attention that the multiplayer abilities page only had information on it from AC: Brotherhood, and the Teleport ability but none of the other new abilities. So I went and recorded new information about Revelation's abilites and noticed that there were enough differences that I thought it wise to create a seperate section for Revelation's abilities.

Another user and I have gotten into a discussion since then (much better than an "undo, redo" fight) about whether to A) keep it as its own section as it is now, B) added the new information to the old abilities, or C) make it its own page. Hello Master Sima Yi, I am Sackchief, the head administrator of Playstation All-Stars Wiki. I've come by the Assassin's Creed wiki to ask for an affiliation. I feel this would be beneficial to both wikis as both Assassin's Creed III and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale are highly anticipated titles to be shown at this year's E3 Expo. Currently, the wiki has a great deal of activity and recieves an average of 10K views a week, that will only increase after the convention. My wiki has already affiliated with the Uncharted, Sly Cooper, Infamous, Jak and Daxter, LittleBigPlanet, God of War, Crash Bandicoot, and Last of Us wikis, and I believe it would be very beneficial for both of our wikis if we were to affiliate. Suggestion

Hello Master Sima. I've been thinking for a while and, although I know that it's probably not my place to do it, I'd like make a suggestion about how we present information in the wiki. I've read many of the article on the wiki and whenever I was going through many related articles, I started to realise that there's a lot of repetition. Sometimes, the information being repeated, whilst somewhat relevant to the article, doesn't really add anything to the article. One example of this is on the Lucy Stillman article, there's one bit in the Subject 16 section that talks about how data from Clay led to the discovery of Desmond's heritage. That bit doesn't really have anything to do with Lucy, doesn't try and translate those events from Lucy perspective and doesn't even lead on to the next paragraph. Well it kinda of does, but does in the same way when I ask someone how they've been and they explain, in detail, the last 5 years of their lives, if you know what I mean. I was wondering if we could reduce the amount of repetition over the wiki to create a more compact version of the articles we have now, to make information about something more specific more accesible. The locations are always different? I don't believe so. The glyphs and rifts themselves are always in certain places, it's just that the solutions don't go by specific glyphs. If you found one glyph in Florence and Venice, you'd get the same glyph puzzles than if you found two in Florence. Slate Vesper 16:23, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

What Sima means is that the Glyph symbols stay the same in their set locations, but the puzzles within are not. For example, the one outside San Gimniano that has the Lorenz Attractor symbol might contain puzzle #2 as well as puzzle #17. Theory

You're correct, we should wait until the hype dies down and see once and for all if he was born in 1755 or a year before that. Anyway, Sima I have a theory to run by you and I want your opinion on it. You notice the image of Connor as a child where he was thrust up against a tree by Charles Lee? My thoughts on that were, well, what if he's eight years old in that picture? He looks eight, he's a child so it's reasonable to assume he is anymore from 8-10 years old because if he were any younger, he wouldn't understand the necessity of the trauma and any older would be foolish to conclude as he is clearly between the range of 8 and 10 years old. So my theory was, based on this speculation, do you think it's logical to deduce his birth year as 1745? Of course now that I think about it, it seems utterly absurd for a number of reasons and the most of which... he clearly looks to be younger than 35 as Ubisoft stated he was in his mid twenties. That could partly be down to the fact that Altair's voice actor in AC1 was told to put on an American accent, in order to make the character bland enough that players could pretend they were Altair, instead of his own personality presenting itself. Desmond page

I know that the Desmond Page is locked to prevent edits, but I had a contribution concerning the trivia section about him in ACII. Specifically with the end of the game when you fight as him against the Templars. Although he only has one hidden blade, he fights with the animations of Ezio having two, especially in the counter kills. Are you sure that he uses the same kill animations as a double blade? Cause I've tried it, those are different animations. You can get Ezio to do the same in the beginning as well (when he has only one blade). IlMualim ^{Wanna Chat?} 22:19, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

Well possible not the same animations exactly, but when I played the moment and countered one of the Templars, I would do one very similar to Ezio, and now and then would use my free hand to stab them. As for the ordinary animations for fighting, I believe that way he attacks is about the same as when Ezio fought with his fists at the beginning of the game, but I am not positive. As for the counter, though, I am positive Desmond would sometimes 'stab' with his free hand. BlankDistortion 02:53, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

I see that you are capable of writing the sections quite well, but personally I don't think they are big enough characters to have much of a legacy. Hi there, i am currently an Admin on the Metro 2033 Wikia, we see that you have a list of affiliated wikias and i am wondering if you would consider become affiliated with our wikia? I Know that the two games are compeltly different but partnership and community is an advantage to both wikias involved

Weird prblem

Hello, Master Sima.

I've got a question, but I'm not sure if it is something you can help with, or nont, so if that's the case, i'm really sorry to bother you. I made an account some time ago, and although, not much, I had about 50 edits or so, i think. I even edited my profile page. However, today i got the welcoming message for this wikia, and I've noticed that my edits have been reset, and that the changes that i made to my page are gone. Is there a promblem with this wikia, something that we can fix, or should I adress the higher-ups at the wikia central site?
