The William Rex was one of 12 legendary ships and a Man O' War encountered by the pirate Alonzo Batilla during the early 18th century.
A Dutch ship built in the dockyards of Vlissingen, William Rex had 72 cannons and was the flagship of the Dutch Navy during her time.[1]
In February 1717, Alonzo sunk the William Rex during his time in Grand Bahama.[2]
