- " I believe there was a book that claimed the world was created in seven days. Best-seller too!"
- ―Dr. Vidic on the Bible
Doctor Warren Vidic is a scientist (the exact position is not clear) of Abstergo Industries. He is the head of research for genetic memory and the Animus project. He also plays the role of the main antagonist in the series (Modern Times).
Assassin's Creed

He is shown to be somewhat of a ruthless, intelligent but clumsy man. This could be observed throughout the game with Desmond pickpocketing him (if the player choses to), being demonstrated through numerous emails in which he is constantly asking for passwords that he has forgotten, or he is thanking Lucy for returning his keypen to him.
He did not admonish Desmond even after his cryptic reply to Desmond's questions: "I think you know enough already." Desmond demands an explanation and Vidic offers "You know what I mean." This leads to the insinuation that he knows Desmond is viewing his emails, but does not retaliate harshly because he believes Desmond has the right to know what is going on, at least to some extent. It may also just be him presuming Desmond knows more than he actually does. Initially, he attempts to push Desmond beyond his limits by keeping him in the Animus, only to be accosted by Lucy. Relenting slightly after Lucy's initial concerns, he is further pacified after Desmond agrees to not resist their work. He remains pushy throughout the game, chastising Desmond for wasting time at the Animus memory selection screen for delays or by walking around the room in the middle of a memory segment.
Emails accessible after the completion of a memory segment further show him to be impatient, perhaps to the point of being sloppy. His emails are written without capitalization, and he doesn't bother signing his emails. He wonders aloud to Lucy why she bothers signing hers, since it indicates the sender quite clearly in the header. On at least one occasion he loses his access badge, which Lucy finds and returns for him. He is dismissive of her calls for him to be more careful with it, replying that she should be more focused on the Animus and their work with Desmond.
Dr. Vidic, however, can be seen with a red aura once Desmond attains Eagle Vision at the end of the game. Despite his possibly honorable intentions, the red aura is similar to that of the ones that soldiers have when one uses Eagle Vision as Altaïr within the Animus. If you attain the access code to the locked room in the lab that is adjacent to the Animus, you can discover that Alan Rikkin has sent Vidic emails regarding past experiments and ventures that Abstergo was apart of. In the email, Vidic is praised for his continued search of the Piece of Eden and it is alluded to that Vidic's work is extraordinarily important and that it will ultimately be instrumental in facilitating Abstergo's ability to control the planet.

Trivia
- His car is missing from his reserved parking spot at the beggining of the second game. It can be seen at the right side of Abstergo's underground parking lot.
