The Victoire

The Victoire (English: Victory) was a brig captained by the Assassin Adéwalé until 1735.

In that year, the Victoire attacked a small French naval fleet off the coast of Saint-Domingue, destroying two brigs and disabling the Templar admiral's galleon. After this, she found herself surrounded by a number of French warships and was forced to attempt an escape through a storm.

While the crew managed to escape, the Victoire was wrecked and Adéwalé washed ashore near the town of Port-au-Prince.[1]
