Takeda Shingen (1 December 1521 – 13 May 1573) was a daimyō of the Sengoku period of Japan, and the head of the Takeda clan.
After defeating the forces of Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu at the Battle of Mikatagahara, Shingen pursued the Tokugawa into Mikawa Province. However, Mochizuki Chiyome's kunoichi were unable to prevent Honda Tadakatsu and the Assassin Hattori Hanzō from entering Shingen's camp, following which Shingen was killed.
