The Roman Ruins were an abandoned structure in the Levant, nestled within the mountainous terrain of the Kingdom, at the halfway distance between Jerusalem and Acre. Consisting of the ruins of an ancient complex, the area featured stone foundations, broken columns, and remnants of classical-style architecture, indicating that the complex dated to at least the Roman era.[1]
In 1191, the abandoned ruins were visited by the Levantine Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, who collected ten flags of the Crusader army scattered around the area, and also found and assassinated a Templar knight nearby.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Roman Ruins are one of the many landmarks within the Kingdom region of the first Assassin's Creed game. While unnamed in-game, they are referred to as the "Roman Ruins" in the Assassin's Creed: Official Game Guide.
