The Pagoda of Chengtian Temple (Chinese: 承天寺塔; meaning 'Bearing Heaven Pagoda'), is an 11-storey brick pagoda in Yinchuan, China, originally built during the reign of the Emperor Yizong of Western Xia.[1] In the 13th century, the Mongolian Assassins used it as a place to train under the retired Assassin Wu. However, after Wu was killed by his charge Shengtong, she then began teaching Assassin techniques to the monks in order to help Genghis Khan's youngest son Tolui.[2]
In 1227, just after assassinating Genghis, the Levantine Assassins' Mentor Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and his entourage stopped at the Pagoda, not knowing some of them served as the late Khan's spies.
