The Abstergo laboratory was a special laboratory built by Abstergo Industries specifically for their Animus project. The Animus device itself was located in a the center of the laboratory, with Warren Vidic's desk located nearby, overlooking the Animus machine. Besides the Animus chamber, the laboratory consisted of other rooms and devices such as a conference room, bedroom, bathroom, and Animus terminal.
Cryptic Messages could be seen throughout room through the use of Eagle Vision.[1]
The landscape outside the laboratory was extremely bright. However, the building housing it was clearly in an urban environment, surrounded by skyscrapers. The laboratory was found on its fourth floor.[2]

Trivia
- The building appears to be based somewhere in Vatican City. This is evidenced by the license plate codes in the car park as well as Italian words appearing at both the warehouse hideout and in the basement car park, where an Italian sign states the clearance height for cars and a notice marking Vidic's parking spot.[2]
- The laboratory itself is located in the Research Wing of the building, as confirmed by one of the guards informing security of Desmond and Lucy's escape.[2]
