The Nereides Monument was a sunken ruin located off the shore of Mount Koryphum in Argolis, Greece.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, claiming the treasures within the deeps.[1]
Trivia
- The Nereides, or Nereids, are sea nymphs and the 50 daughters of Nereus and Doris in Greek mythology.
- Despite the similarity in names, this location has nothing to do with the Nereid Monument, which is located in Turkey.
