Andvaranaut (Old Norse: "Andvari's Gift") was a cursed ring from Norse mythology that was first owned by the dwarf Andvari. It granted the wearer the ability to find gold anywhere, but after Loki stole it, Andvari cursed the ring to bring destruction to the ringbearer. The Norse hero Sigurd famously carried it for a time.[1]
History
In the 870s, the ring was found in Northumbria by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan after following a rabbit which a Norseman claimed to be a reincarnation of Loki.[2]
