The Kingdom was the open landscape that connected the cities of Masyaf, Acre, Jerusalem, Damascus, and Arsuf.
It was made up largely of open plains and mountains, and contained numerous small villages and encampments. Twelve notable watchtowers were scattered across it.
History
During the High Middle Ages, and the height of the Third Crusade, the Kingdom acted as neutral territory between the Crusaders in Acre, and the Saracens of Damascus and Jerusalem.
The western end of the Kingdom was actively militarized by King Richard I, while the eastern region fell under the jurisdiction of the Saracen army. Both sides possessed fortified armies, which defended against one another.
At this time, both the Assassin and Templar Orders had a notable presence in the Kingdom as well. Assassin guards were stationed before the mountainous areas near Masyaf, while sixty Templar Knights were posted throughout the Kingdom's landscape.
Trivia
- In Assassin's Creed, 100 King Richard flags could be found throughout the Kingdom to complete an additional memory, and earn the "Keeper of the Lions Passant" achievement.
- Killing the 60 Templar Knights in the Kingdom unlocked the "Personal Vendetta" achievement.
