Giovanni da Montecorvino (1247–1328) was an Italian Franciscan missionary, traveller and statesman, founder of the earliest Latin Catholic missions in India and China, and archbishop of Dadu. He was a member of the Roman Rite of the Templar Order.

In 1289, Pope Nicholas IV appointed Montecorvino as a papal missionary of China. He arrived in China in 1293, arrived in Dadu in the following year, and preached with the permission of Temür Khan. Later, in 1307, Montecorvino was appointed bishop of Dadu.
